Isanti Soil & Water Conservation District

Hello! I am Lydia Godfrey this summer’s Seasonal Intern with the Isanti Soil and Water Conservation District. This fall I am going into my senior year at the University of St. Thomas where I am finishing my degree in Environmental Science and minoring in Psychology. During my college years I have worked as a Watercraft Inspector with the DNR and as a lab assistant studying fungi’s effect on climate change. I was born and raised in Cambridge and spend a lot of my time both here and in St. Paul. Outside of work I enjoy baking, painting, puzzling and hiking. Over the past few months, I have been exploring all of the local trails near Cambridge with my family and two dogs. This summer I will be helping with early detection of invasive species within twelve lakes in Isanti county, monitoring water health, and surveying the progress of implemented Best Management Practices. I am looking forward to assisting the Isanti Soil and Water Conservation District with these tasks and helping maintain this communities’ beautiful lakes!
