NORWAY PINE (PINUS RESINOSA)

Norway or Red Pine is the state tree of Minnesota.  It is extremely cold hardy.  Moderate to rapid growth rate.  Tolerates poor growing conditions such as dry, acid, sandy or rocky soil.  Generally speaking, when comparing the popular white and Norway pines, the Norway pine is better suited to drier and sunnier conditions.  Needles are medium green to yellow-green 5-6” long and groups of two.  Grows 40-60 ft tall.  FULL SUN.
